The General Sessions Court Clerk’s Office has received a number of phone calls and visitors advising of phone calls made informing them that they had missed jury duty, and could make payments in lieu of arrest. Fraudulent websites have been created to receive such fraudulent payments. Please be advised that the General Sessions Court Clerk’s Office will never ask past or prospective jurors for financial information, credit card or social security numbers, nor will we instruct you to purchase pre-paid gift cards to have warrants removed for failure to appear for jury service. The General Sessions Court Clerk’s Office strongly recommends the recipients of the aforementioned correspondence to exercise extreme caution. Financial loss and identity theft could result from the transfer of money and/or personal information. As such, please DO NOT provide any information on any website, or to anyone claiming to be associated with the General Sessions Court Clerk’s Office or any Courts of Shelby County, the Sheriff’s Department, or the Memphis Police Department. Please DO NOT leave your home to meet these individuals at ANY location. The General Sessions Court Clerk’s Office is not responsible for any financial loss and/or identity theft may result from any fraudulent transfer of money or personal information.
